FAQ

Common Questions

Low-voltage or line-voltage?

Path and landscape lighting is almost always low-voltage (12V), safer to work around and easier to extend later. Security lighting and floods are typically line-voltage (120V).

Can you add lighting to existing landscaping?

Yes. That's most of what we do. We trench shallow runs, set fixtures, and tie back to a transformer at a GFCI-protected outdoor outlet.

Do outdoor outlets need to be GFCI?

Yes. Any outdoor outlet must have GFCI protection per current code.

How long do landscape lights last?

Quality LED fixtures should run 10+ years on the LED itself. Wiring and transformers should last the same.
